MONKEY ME MONKEY HOME
Well the longest Spring Getaway in history (probably) finally came to an end on June 9th when Monkey returned home to Winnepeg.
Its been 14 months since Lisagh waved goodbye to her Monkey and he set off on his great adventure.
He's been the length and breadth of the United States, been featured on CBC Radio Manitoba, been sniffed by a lot of dogs (and bitten on the butt by one of them), seen the GIANT CHERRY WITH SPOON in Minneapolis (that's the one I'm personally most jealous about) been MIA in for several weeks, steered a yacht, ridden pillion on a Harley, got his own Facebook page, and met a lot of interesting characters! But most of all he's had a lot of fun with a lot of wonderful families!
And now? He's probably taking a well deserved holiday!

IRON PLUSH!
If you have been over to the Plush Team blog in the last couple of weeks you will have been served up a delicious menu of plush platters!
Based on Iron Chef, the May/June challenge is IRON PLUSH!
"To challenge our team members, 5 theme "ingredients" were randomly picked - pom poms, faux fur, foam, mirrors, and velcro. 5-6 team members were assigned to each ingredient, and they are currently battling it out by creating a food themed plush using their assigned "ingredient". An awesome panel of judges(to be named later) will be rating the entries in 3 categories - originality, use of theme ingredient, and plating. We will have one Iron Plush winner per ingredient!"

1. Battle Velcro - Ravioli con Tentacoli di Polpo, 2. Pom Pom Pomegranate - Iron Chef Challenge, 3. Set of 10 Mad Tea Party Cookies, 4. The emperor using the force to steal a Wookie Cookie, 5. ooh la talulah...iron chef challenge, 6. Iron Plush Competition, 7. Cake Detail, 8. I love Sushi, 9. Velcro Strawberry Cake

Hallos Everybodypeeps
I've been busy the last few weeks. Firstly making John Lennon in Sergeant Pepper outfit for a custom order. I can't believe I've not made him before as I lovelovelove the Beatles. I'd like to make the other three if I ever got the time as well, but I know I'd end up being stuck with Ringo.. hahah... The Beatles off of Yellow Submarine are also on my to-do list. That film is one of my all time favourites. One day I will make the three-headed bulldog. One day my friends, ONE DAY.
I've also been making monkeys and organising other *new*new*new* items for the Candy Floss craft Fair on 18th July, but some of those will be appearing in my etsy shop as well over the next few weeks. First of those is a new punk monkey - if he's still in the shop on 18th July he'll be coming to Candy Floss with me! Love these socks - blue and black check, and he's turned out a nice shape too (I was also glad to be able to get outside and take a photo in the sunshien for the first time since last autumn!) :D
There will also be new cards, bananas, badges (pinback buttons for those of you in the US), stickers and notebooks...
Watch this space! :D

Sweet Opportunity
Craft Candy is calling for stallholder applications for its summer craft fair!
Craft Candy organises three contemporary craft fairs a year, showcasing some of the best art and craft this city has to offer.
Over 550 people attended the recent 'Spring Fling' fair, which was held at The Workstation on March 28th 2009.

Bookings are now being taken for its next event 'Candyfloss' which will be held on 18th July 2009 at the Millennium Gallery, in the heart of Sheffield City Centre. Spaces at this fantastic venue are filling up quickly so if you would like to apply for a stall please visit the Fairs page of the Craft Candy website where you will be asked to fill in a simple form.
