Buckstar

Bravely overcoming a career-stopping knee injury during a particularly energetic game of pro-netball, Buckstar went on to defy the strict entry requirements and maximum height restrictions of Monkey Flight School to become one of their greatest (and tallest) pilots. Though thoroughly committed to her profession, when off-duty she does enjoy the odd game of Gin Rummy over a mocktail or two.

Buckstar is happy to announce that she is settling in well with Tina and the rest of her monkey family, and is already helping out with a bit of the driving.

I always love to hear from my monkeys in their new homes. If you have any photos or stories to share, please send them over to me at siansburys@gmail.com :)

Last Posting Dates for Christmas

Well, Christmas is creeping up.. only 6 weeks away now?! I've put up a (slightly terrifying) little countdown calendar at the top of my blog to help you plan ahead, hah!

Please note that these are THE VERY LAST opportunity for you to make purchases from my shop to enable me to get to the post office before Royal Mail's last recommended posting dates. If you are planning on making a purchase for Christmas please do so in plenty of time to avoid disappointment!

4th DECEMBER 10:00am GMT - Rest of World
9th DECEMBER 10:00am GMT - Japan, USA, Canada, E. Europe
11th DECEMBER 10:00am GMT - Western Europe
21st DECEMBER 10:00am GMT - UK First Class
22nd DECEMBER 10:00am GMT - UK Special Delivery

Unfortunately, as per my previous post, I cannot undertake any more custom work before Christmas, but I do have more monkeys in stock that are not yet listed. Please let me know if you had something in particular in mind and I will see if I can match you up with your perfect monkey!

Thanks a lot
S xx

Christmas Orders

Hello

I am now completely booked up for custom sock monkeys for Christmas. I do however have a selection of 'normal' sock monkeys that I am making for my stall at Candy Cane in Sheffield on 28-29th Nov.

If you would like to see what I have available before the event (and deplete my stock, lol) please drop me an email at siansburys@gmail.com

Thank you

Sock Monkey - Eve

Two monkeys in one evening! Although its past midnight so it counts as two separate days, right?!

In July 2005, Eve set sail from Hull on a voyage to collect botanical samples from the South Pacific. Caught in terrible storms, her vessel was shipwrecked on a small island off the coast of of Chile, where she happily integrated with the native community, adopting local customs, until her rescue by a passing cruise ship in September 2009.

Sock Monkey - Les

For 25 years, Leslie has worked all hours God sends in his kiosk on Oxford Street, selling high class souvenirs and cold beverages to punters from all over the world. Les loves his job, but looks forward to passing the Union-Jack-clad baton to his son when he retires (in time to enjoy the Olympics) in 2012.

Monkey With No Name

Just finished this custom listing for a special customer :D

Its a custom Clint Eastwood "Man with No Name" monkey from the trilogy: A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

Made from a pair of brand new light brown socks and stuffed with polyfil, he is dressed in dark blue sock 'jeans', blue felt shirt, felt waistcoat and cowboy boots with spurs. He features a sand coloured felt face patch with brown felt eyebrows, plastic safety eyes, acrylic yarn hair and a felt beard. He wears a brown fleece poncho and felt hat, carries felt pistols and rifle, and smokes a brown felt cherute.

Really enjoyed making the little boots on this one, and it was my first foray into the world of FLEECE. There's plenty of fleece left over, so look out for some new designs coming soon! :D
